OSiRiS THE HiGHES is a Nubian artist who is constantly challenging his very own sounds and precedents.
From performing Michael Jackson tributes in elementary school to playing bass for a high school garage band his sophmore year. Both his understanding and love for the music as a universal language began to grow. By the age of 17, THE HiGHES began writing raps under the psuedonym of SiR DAMUS BLUNTSWORTH. Afterwards, he decided to retain that name for crediting purposes. Finding a new identity that was deeply rooted in his genealogy, it was honest in both experience and ideas of expression.
Born from a cypher
Starting out, the idea of giving music a real shot came from the 2012 BET Awards. Inspired by the label themed cyphers that took place that night. THE HiGHES knew he belonged amongst the greats. Over the next 4 years, he was able to develop not only his sound as an artist, but his identity as an individual, carrying a tremendous creative value wherever he goes.
Looking to the Future
Feeling inspired by the authenticity of music. THE HiGHES naturally looks forward to his next collaboration. Whether it be with a different artist, producer, engineer , photographer, or studio; the finished production is something that is guaranteed engagement.
